LESSON ONE

Moving From Fear to Friendship

Let’s be honest about perceptions we have of Muslims as a whole; and Islam too. The media does not help us. The fact that some of it is true doesn’t help either. In order for God to really help us LOVE Muslims, we must be aware of any deep prejudice we have against Muslims, or fear we hold, and admit that maaaaaaaybe we don’t really know the whole story about what they really believe and who they really are.

In this lesson, you will...

  • Explore your perception of Muslims and how you (really) feel about them.
  • Understand what Muslims (really) think of Christians.
  • Know how to answer the question well, “Are you a Christian?”
  • Plan three activities that will remove your fear and prepare your heart for friendship.
LESSON TWO

Finding Common Ground

A Muslim friend once told me, "Christians are like our cousins. We are related because we have a common faith heritage, believe in many of the same prophets, start with the same Holy Books, know many of the same historical stories. We are cousins!"

In this lesson, we’re going learn how to...

  • Create bridges between our faiths with similar prophets and stories.
  • Explain WHO Jesus IS in the Qu’ran. 
  • Embrace the use of the word “Allah” for God.
  • Speak with Kingdom of God language to defuse misunderstandings.
LESSON THREE

Entering Muslim Cultures Well

In this lesson, we’ll learn how to LIVE in your everyday life so that a Muslim family will welcome your presence into their culture—and eventually welcome what you have to say. We'll do exercises to help us embrace these important cultural ways to live.

  • What you respect
  • How you pray
  • What you wear
  • What you eat
  • How you speak
  • What Bible you use
LESSON FOUR

Addressing Common Objections Muslims Have

How do you answer when Muslims say: You cannot worship three gods. Jesus is not God. Jesus is not the Son of God. The Bible is corrupt. Mohammed is God's prophet. I cannot convert to Christianity. We'll work through the Addressing Common Objections Guide to do exercises and follow along with the video lesson.

In this lesson you’ll learn how to:

  • Sidestep common objections the first times you meet a Muslim.
  • Answer six main objections when the questions are genuine.
  • Handle two underlying beliefs from Folk/Animistic Muslims.
LESSON FIVE

Presenting the Gospel From a Different Worldview Lens

We see the world through different lens, depending on where and how we grew up. This is our worldview.

If we can speak through the lens of someone’s worldview, we can more easily explain the good news of the Kingdom of God. They can see it too. And receive it.

When you finish this lesson you will know how to:

  • Explain the difference between three major world views  (Innocence/Guilt, Honor/Shame and Power/Fear).
  • Practice telling a Jesus story from a different worldview lens than your own.
  • Watch me model sharing the Gospel from an Honor/Shame Worldview lens.
